Aw my gawsh. This is a true head snapping, straight funky and very sexy track. Coming from the Astro Nautico camp, Photey will release his self-titled album late this summer. Photey studied music in West Africa, where he also got his nickname from. Photey means white-person in Susu. Pretty cool. He is known for blending various styles, as you can here in this mix. This first single, and collaboration with Seafloor, is truly amazing. Have a listen and get excited for his new release.
In the past, Seafloor released material on the lovely labels Astro Nautico and Infinite Machine. For his latest EP he joined the Russian label Hyperboloid. If you’ve been following us, you know we’re fans of all three labels. This must mean we automatically dig Seafloor’s music, right? I guess so. With ‘Fissure’, Seafloor takes you on a jungle trip, packed with amen breaks, deep synths and heavy basses. Apparently Seafloor is currently working on a project with Praveen (Braille). Something we hopefully hear more about soon.
Seafloor starts to reach the surface. One of his tracks was featured on the last Atlantics compilation and he now has a release on the always surprisingly good label Infinite Machine. ‘Churn’ contains three tracks that are diverse and bring all kinds of different genres together. ‘Krakatoa’ must be our favorite. It starts with jungle samples and than takes you on a spacey trip through Krakatau. You can get your download here.
